Dear Volunteers,
A number of campus safety resources are available to you. During your time on and around campus, please review and become familiar with these valuable resources that were created with you in mind.
The Daily Crime Log
The Daily Crime Log is available on the university’s Clery website, or via the campus mobile safety app LiveSafe.
Safety Notices and UT Alerts
In the event of an immediate, serious or continuing threat to campus safety, you may receive a Safety Notice or UT Alert.
For more information you can visit the Clery website, or the Clery Act FAQ.
The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
The university releases an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report addressing a wide range of safety information every fall. The 2021 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report will be released in the coming weeks. A notification will be sent to you when it is available.
Safety Concerns Regarding The Strip
The University of Tennessee does not own or control the private businesses on the Strip and Clery Act notifications do not cover off-campus criminal activity. However, your safety and security are our utmost concern and we recommend you be proactive in making informed decisions for your safety.
There has been a noticeable uptick in criminal acts, including shootings, large fights, and assaults in the Cumberland Avenue business district between 17th Street and 22nd Street. We highly recommend you consider this information if you choose to visit this area, and use extreme caution when at or near this location. As always, avoid dimly lit areas and report any suspicious or criminal activity to UTPD at 865-974-3114. You can stay up to date on criminal activity reported to the UT Police Department by visiting the Daily Crime Log. The log is updated every business day for the previous day’s incidents.
